On Wednesday, Sample Road west of University Drive and east of NW 110th Avenue, and Coral Springs Drive north of NW 29th Street and south of NW 37th Street, will be closed on the night of the Holiday Parade from 5 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m.

Due to system maintenance, online payments for Code Compliance cases, Business Tax, Fire Inspection fees, Landlord Registration, and Neighborhood Preservation fees cannot be submitted.

Code Explorers

Code Explorers Pre-University Programs explore a variety of subjects in Engineering, Technology and Computer Science for all creative minds. The curriculum-based programs are developed by Engineers, Computer Scientists and Instructional Designers.  For more information, visit www.codeexplorers.org. 

Open to all Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade students.

 

TUESDAYS  (Eight-Week Session)

116241 A • 4 to 5pm • Prekindergarten – Kindergarten (Ages 4-5): PK Computational Thinking and Coding

Learn, explore and develop skills in computer programming, critical thinking, and sequencing development using mobile devices. These curriculum-based, one-of-a-kind programs enhance in-school learning with the latest Stanford University Design Thinking methodology and utilizing Google and MIT Creative Blocks technology. Students will learn sequencing, loops, conditional, object programming, variables, age-appropriate math concepts, layers, image and sound manipulation and more.  PK students will be immerse in coding while enhancing their spatial, motor and critical thinking skills. These are age-appropriate programs part of a progressive, skill-development curricula and help students explore careers in engineering, and computer science.

116241 A3 • 6:30-7:30PM • Fifth – Eighth Grade (Ages 10-13): JR Mobile App Development

In a sequel class, Code Explorers exposes NEO and JR students to mobile app development, its components, events and layering. In addition to learn how to CODE apps, students will learn to create app packages, and load them into devices. Students will also learn the basics of layout, and user interface. Research has demonstrated that computer programming can help kids develop vital problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. 

Supply Fee: $45.00 per student (if student does not have an Android Tablet from Fall 2017 program)

 

 

Location: All classes will be held at the Coral Springs Gymnasium at Mullins Park • 2501 Coral Springs Drive

 

Registration Instructions:

$100 registration fee is paid directly to the City of Coral Springs via online or in-person registration at the Coral Springs Gymnasium

 

$45 supply fee is paid directly to Code Explorers prior to beginning class at www.codeexplorers.org
