In 1996 the Zebra Longwing was officially declared the Florida State Butterfly. This striking insect can often be spotted hovering around flowering plants landing on the blooms to extract nectar. In this case the Zebra is perched on Wild Coffee.

The Zebra Longwing is also know for its social behavior. These butterflies congregate and roost at the same location every night.
