Our Diversity - Educational Programs

  • "UNIKIDS" (April 2005), "UNITEENS" (November 2005), and "UNITOWN," (February 2005), youth leadership training programs geared respectively to elementary, middle and high school students where values of citizenship, friendship and racial harmony are emphasized. High school students are exposed to a weekend retreat, and an action plan is developed for future involvement in schools and communities.
  • "UNITY IN THE COMMUNITY," a Diversity Dialogue. Representatives of various stakeholder groups met to address and assess our current cultural climate and then take steps to maintain and enhance our inclusive and caring environment. A follow-up luncheon was held later to review the status of some of the programs already underway and others still to be implemented. (October 2002)
  • Diversity Training for City employees.
  • The Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee organizes an Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration honoring the life and works of Dr. King, with activities appealing to every segment of the population. A Scholarship Fund has been established for needy high school seniors entering an institution of higher learning.
