The Law Enforcement Trainee position is designed for candidates who meet the Coral Springs Police Department’s education requirement but do not possess the required experience to automatically qualify as a Law Enforcement Officer. Additionally, the Law Enforcement Trainee position offers an opportunity for candidates who have served 4 years in the military and have earned a minimum of 60 college credits to become sworn Law Enforcement Officers. The Coral Springs Police Department only hires Law Enforcement Trainees who are prepared to become Law Enforcement Officers immediately upon successful completion of the Police Academy.
Coral Springs Police Department Law Enforcement Trainees are fully sponsored while attending the Broward County Criminal Justice Institute Police Academy. Law Enforcement Trainees earn a salary of $47,298 ($22.73 hourly) and are eligible for insurance benefits while attending the Police Academy. Additionally, tuition, books and any other required class materials are fully paid for. Upon successful completion of the Academy and successful completion of the State Certification Exam, Law Enforcement Trainees are sworn in as Law Enforcement Officers and begin Field Training.
