Coral Springs Police Department Middle School Youth Mentoring Program

The Youth Mentoring Program will reinforce the potential that middle school students have to achieve personal and professional success through mentoring and community involvement.

Goals of the Program

  • The students will improve their academic performance
  • Learn from Youth Mentoring Seminars that focus on career development and decision making skills.
  • Improve their Leadership skills through mentoring and community projects

The goals of the Youth Mentoring Program are achieved through the participation of Positive Role Models "MENTORS"

Getting Involved

The T.A.G. Mentor is a female adult who will teach students about her profession or discuss a career related topic. The mentor can participate in a variety of group activities and workshops.

The Mentor Speakers Bureau is a membership to participate in Youth Mentoring Seminars that are offered to middle and high school students. The topics include leadership skills, teamwork, planning and goal setting, employment and careers.

The Mentoring Leadership Partner is a community site that provides guided tours, presentations and/or special projects to students participating in the program.

To ensure the safety of the students participating in the Youth Mentoring Program, The Coral Springs Police Department completes a background screening on all mentors and volunteers.
