Flammable, Toxic, Corrosive and Reactive Waste
For disposal of flammable, toxic, corrosive and reactive waste, there is free drop-off for Broward residents every Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm.at the North Transfer Station which is located at 2780 N. Powerline Road in Pompano.
These products include:
paints (oil and latex), paint thinners and strippers, used oil, automotive fluids and gasoline solvents, pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, spot removes, oven and drain cleaners, furniture and metal polish, mercury batteries and tires.
Landscape debris, Furniture or Appliances
For disposal of landscape debris, furniture or appliance, the City of Coral Springs Waste Transfer Station is located at Wiles Road and NW 126TH Avenue and is available free of charge to City residents only. Open Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The Waste Transfer Station changed its proof of residency requirements to ensure the facility is used only by City residents for non-commercial disposal. Two forms of identification are required to use the Waste Transfer Station, which should include a valid driver's license with a Coral Springs address, as well as a water, electric, or cable bill.
The Waste Transfer Station is for residents who wish to dispose of bulk waste. It's open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following other restrictions remain in affect at the station:
- No commercial waste is accepted, including significant construction debris.
- No raw garbage, animal waste, tires, batteries, paint or other liquid waste will be accepted.
- Waste may be brought in your car, passenger van (under 7 passengers), pickup trucks (with beds no larger than 4'x 8'), or trailers (with beds no larger than 4'x 8'x 3').
- Vehicles rented by residential property owners, meeting the above size restrictions, are permitted. However, residents should contact the Public Works Department at 954-344-1165 prior to renting the vehicle, to ensure the vehicle size and material hauled meets the standards of the transfer station.
